Running out of iso date-night ideas? Why not spend the evening with a dinner from one of the best restaurants in your area, and a life-drawing class live-streamed into your living room.
Melbourne’s Maha, Sydney’s Pasta Emilia and Brisbane’s Salt Meats Cheese have partnered with Queensland plant-based “meat” company Fable to deliver dinners featuring the meat alternative. Plus, everything you need to get on board with an online drawing class.
Here’s how it works. For $99 you can order a hamper for two containing a chef-designed ready-made dinner, a slab of organic Pana chocolate, a one-kilo packet of Fable’s meat alternative, and a little something extra from each restaurant. You’ll also get a sketch pad, graphite pencils and tickets to the live-streamed life-drawing class.
The experience is available to those in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast, with delivery by Mr Yum.
Customers in Sydney, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast can choose between three dinner options from Salt Meats Cheese – a plant-based lasagne, a garlic and Fable pizza, or a No-Meat Lovers pizza. Each comes with a bottle of Lisa McGuigan shiraz.
Sydneysiders can also order from Surry Hills’ Pasta Emilia, which is offering lasagne and organic gnocchi, both with Fable ragu and an organic broccoli salad. You’ll also get dessert – tiramisu with the lasagne option, or a vegan coconut dessert with the gnocchi.
In Melbourne, Maha has two choices: Fable tagine with preserved lemon, pumpkin and spicy harissa; or baharat-fried (a Middle Eastern spice blend) Fable with chickpeas, pulses and grains, Persian saffron and barberry mushroom XO sauce.
The drawing class will be run by Daniel Parrak, an art teacher from Darlinghurst Life Drawing. Parrak will teach you the techniques you need to draw the human form, with help from a live model. You can tip your model at the checkout when buying your hamper, too.
Order online before May 9 and the hamper, with your food, supplies and tickets will be delivered to your door between May 13 and 16.
The life-drawing class will live-stream on Saturday May 16 at 7pm.
